New Year Employment Insurance payment delay
The Service Canada Employment Insurance office will be closed on Wednesday, January 1st, 2025. All in-person services and call centre operations will be unavailable to the public on this day.
All EI claimants (regular or special benefits) may experience a delay of one or two business days in receiving their Employment Insurance cheques or direct deposit.
Regular business hours will resume on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025. For more information and to access available online services, please visit pensioncanada.ca.Â

May 26, 2023 12:51 pmYes, the system will process it after you completed your report, however the payment part will be delayed to Tuesday or Wednesday.
