There has been news about an upcoming simplified EI program. Although the details has not been explained in detailed yet, we know the follow facts:

The Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) plan was included in an economic recovery bill that was tabled in Parliament. If the legislation passes, Canadians who qualify could receive $500 a week for up to 26 weeks between Sept. 27 and Sept. 25, 2021.

The Canada Recovery Sickness benefit (CRSB), which would provide $500 a week for two weeks to workers who fall ill or need to self-isolate due to COVID-19;

The Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB), which would provide $500 a week per household for up to 26 weeks when someone must take a leave from work to care for a family member.

All Canadians are be able to apply for the CRB, CRSB, and CRCB through the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) website for one year up until September 25, 2021.
