Due to Canada Day holiday on Saturday, July 1st, 2023, all EI claimants (regular or special) may experience a delay of one or two business days in receiving their Employment Insurance direct deposit.
Service Canada Employment Insurance office will be closed on Monday July 3rd, 2023.
Please ensure to plan yourself accordingly.
So if I was to receive my EI payment on June 28/2022 will that be delayed because of July 1/2022?
no, the payment you receive on June 28th, is to cover your previous 2 weeks of reporting period. Since the national holiday is on a Friday, there will be no EI payment delay this time.
Week of Monday July forth is there a delay?
there won’t be any payment delay since the national holiday was on Friday.

I still haven’t received my EI and the 2 business days because of July 1st have passed. I should have received it today.
Hello Catherine,
You have to reach out to EI call centre directly for the status of your claim. Their phone number is 1-800-206-7218.
