Thanksgiving holiday EI office closure and payment delay

Due to the national Canadian Thanksgiving holiday on Monday, October 14th, 2024, all EI claimants (regular or special benefits) may experience a delay of one or two business days in receiving their Employment Insurance cheques or direct deposit.

Service Canada call centre (EI or Pension) and local Service Canada centres and passport offices will be closed on Monday, October 14th, 2024.

If you have completed your report over the weekend, you may receive your direct deposit payment on Tuesday, October 15th, or Wednesday, October 16th.
