Victoria Day 2026 EI Payment Delay: Service Canada Holiday Schedule

If you are receiving Employment Insurance (EI), the Victoria Day long weekend on May 18, 2026, will result in a payment delay. As a federal statutory holiday, Service Canada will pause operations, affecting processing times for millions of Canadians.

The 2026 Victoria Day EI Payment Schedule

Due to the closure of federal offices and banks, your payment will arrive later than usual. Below is the projected schedule:

Important Service Canada Closure Information

Service Canada Centres will be closed on Monday, May 18, 2026. While you can still use the My Service Canada Account (MSCA) to submit reports, they will not be reviewed until Tuesday, May 19.

Note: Direct deposit is the fastest way to receive your benefits. If you still receive paper cheques, expect further delays due to Canada Post holiday schedules.
