Canada Day holiday EI payment delay
Please be advised that the Service Canada Employment Insurance in-person offices and call centre will be closed on Tuesday, July 1st, 2025. Regular service will resume on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025. Therefore, all EI claimants (regular or special) may experience a delay of one or two business days in receiving their Employment Insurance direct deposit.Â
Please ensure to plan yourself accordingly.
Note: Service Canada will experience an increased volume of clients after the long weekend. If you are not in a rush, the best time to call or visit Service Canada offices is on the Thursday morning of the same week.

July 2, 2022 2:48 pmno, the payment you receive on June 28th, is to cover your previous 2 weeks of reporting period. Since the national holiday is on a Friday, there will be no EI payment delay this time.
