The Government of Canada is committed to reconciliation and ensuring that the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools are never forgotten.
The federal government recently passed legislation in 2021 to make September 30th a federal statutory holiday called the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.Â
Due to the newly observed federal government holiday, all EI call centre and Service Canada offices will be closed on Monday, September 30th, 2024.
Additionally, all EI claimants with their report completed over the weekend will see their direct deposit payment delayed to Tuesday October 1st, 2024.
