New Year Employment Insurance payment delay
The Service Canada Employment Insurance office will be closed on Thursday, January 1st, 2025. All in-person services and call centre operations will be unavailable to the public on this day.
All EI claimants (regular or special benefits) may experience a delay of one or two business days in receiving their Employment Insurance cheques or direct deposit.
Regular business hours will resume on Friday, January 2nd.
